Unhappy - Prolapse issues--did you have these? Prolapse issues--did you have these?

I have suffered from prolapse for a number of years and only found out what it was about six months ago. Now waiting for LAVH next month. I frequently suffer from pain in my hips, legs and back which I assume is caused by the prolapse. Has anyone else had these symptoms as well.

Re: Prolapse issues--did you have these?

ShirleyAnne--

I'm sorry you are having these problems. Have you asked your doctor if s/he thinks that your prolapses could be what is causing your pain? Do you have a very high POP-Q (degree of pelvic organ prolapse)? Prolapses can contribute to such things.

Of course, you will only find out for sure after discussing things with your doctor and seeing what can be done to improve your symptoms.

I do hope you get it figured out and that your pain quickly recedes.

Sending you many positive vibes.............

Re: Prolapse issues--did you have these?

Thanks for your reply, I don't know if its a high POP-Q or not?

will ask the Doc on Friday when I see her next.

This is a wonderful site but a bit confusing to find your way around, and so much information

Re: Prolapse issues--did you have these?

If you go to the top of the front page of this forum, Pelvic Floor and Bladder Issues, you will find 2 threads that are there all the time. They are a Glossary and Resources thread that explain many things. You can read through the Glossary to find out basic definitions of many terms that are used here. POP-Q means pelvic organ prolapse quantification. It is something that UroGYN's (urogynecologists) are using more often nowadays to show the degree of prolapses of the various parts of your body. I don't know how many regular Ob/gyn's or GYN's know it. It is like a tic-tac-toe grid but if you click on that thread, you can find more information in better detail. You can also go to the front page of this forum at any time by clicking the words 'Pelvic Floor and Bladder Issues' that you see whenever you see a post. You will see them at the top of your posts like this--
HysterSister > Hysterectomy Special Needs > Pelvic Floor and Bladder Issues > etc.
I hope this helps you navigate this particular forum a little better.
It's always best to ask your doctor for the best information for you. S/he knows your own individual case better than anyone.

Sending you and good vibes..........
