WORK/RECOVERY TIME dates

Good Morning Ladies,

I had my surgery on 4/17 (prevously had uterus removed in 2006 and on April 17 had ovaries, fallopian tubes and cervix removed). I actually feel AWESOME. Since my surgery, I have only had one rough day and that was Sunday; just got very blue and cried but honestly I do not chalk this up to hormones, I chalk it up to being overtired. I did start back at work half days last Thursday and I think that is what did it. I had always had a good repor with my boss, but from the time I told her I was going in for surgery, she just got distant. What I don't understand is that I work for her husband, who is a physician, and her main thing is when I'm coming back. I honestly don't mind working and actually enjoy it and for me, I need to be around people. One of my daughters works with me, so I get rides with her and for right now, have been able to get rides home. I spoke with my doctor yesterday and I did not get clearance to drive yet but the working part is totally up to me. I am not going to commit to going back full time and she wrote a note stating this fact. This has, however, left me thinking whether or not I want to continue to work at this office. I really love my job and I'm very good at it (Medical billing specialist), but this reaction has left me very disappointed and not to mention that I didn't even get flowers or a card when I was out-THIS TOTALLY BAFFELS ME. At any rate, I have started to send out my resume to see what's out there. Again, I really do feel great, taking my herbs for menopausal women, which I love and took them since my uterus was removed, I just get tired. I think what hurts worse is my feelings from my boss. Any of you women experience this? Any feedback would be appreciated. Blessings and Healing to All!!!! Danita

Re: WORK/RECOVERY TIME dates

Sorry you are having trouble at work. I feel that the reason why I was chosen to be laid off from my company was because of the amount of time I lost and the fact that I was having female surgery in a work world full of males. My boss would not even allow me to tell him what kind of surgery or what it would take to recover. He just told me he didn't want to know and to just check in with him. I was let go back in November and got the call in jan that I would not be called back. I work for a major corporation now and my health is their utmost concern. They care if I am not feeling well or if something is wrong. Maybe this boss of yours is just a bit jealous that you are getting some additional attention. maybe approach her and speak openly about it and tell her that this is bothering you. You thought you had a good relationship with her, etc.... I don't know where you live or what kind of laws protect you if any but I can tell you that my husband was fired from a job for putting out feelers for a new one. Luckily he had one lined up to go too but in this economy you should really take precaution when putting yourself out there. You don't want to end up loosing a job that you love because you failed to open up to your boss and speak with her. We have an open door policy where I work now and it is the greatest thing ever. You can approach any member of mgmt in total confidence and speak with them about anything that is on your mind and it never leaves the room your in and you never get judged. Talk with your boss before making a quick decision.

Re: WORK/RECOVERY TIME dates

Danita, I think you should talk with your boss and let her know your concerns. She may not realize that she is coming across the way she is. I hate to see you give up a job that you enjoy if you can work things out with this lady. The main thing is that you need to take care of yourself, don't do anything that your not ready to do. I wish you the best with this situation. Keep us posted.

Re: WORK/RECOVERY TIME dates

Thank you! That sounds pretty sound. I would not give up my job unless I know I had something else but I really do enjoy my job and like what I do. I will e-mail her and ask her if we can have a meeting.

thank you!!!
