Re: Questions for those who had hyst due to prolapse

Hi cherymal,

I'm having a hysterectomy partly due to prolapse, and alsoy because of concerns related to abnormal post-menopausal bleeding.

If you click on the "forums" button at the top right-hand corner of this page and then follow the link to "pelvic floor and bladder issues" you'll find a whole forum devoted to various aspects of prolapse surgery/hysterectomy.

Re: Questions for those who had hyst due to prolapse

Hi cherymal, I had a tvh due to prolapse and minor anterior repairs every thing went smoothly and i was home2 days after surgery. Have been given 8 weeks off work and 4 weeks no driving. I was very nervous about having vaginal surgery but was the best thing i could do . I also consulted 3 doctors who between them offered vaginal hyster or a mesh repair insert .So glad i went with tvh. 15 days postop no bleeding since day 3 and minimal discomfort though i have been doing exactly as i was told to do. As stated by another sister the link to pelvic floor and bladder issues was very helpful to me. Good Luck!
