One year anniversary today

I can't believe it has been an entire year since I had an entire TAH. I had a lot of issues and infections following the surgery and thought I would never heal. My swelling was awful and I could not fit back into clothes for months However, today I am happy to say that I feel good. I still have some swelling but I am able to fit into my normal clothes again. Despite the long recovery it was the best decision to have the surgery done.

Ironically, my 16 year old daughter just had one fallopian tube removed on my anniversary from my TAH. She had it done because her reproductive system did not develop fully and she is missing half of her uterus. She is doing well but is reminding me of all that I endured a year ago. I told her that she will heal and be back on her feet soon. She is young and is recovering well.

I did not think that I would ever make it to a year and be recovered but I did! I have to thank everyone on this site because I received the guidance and support I needed to make it through the long months of recovery. Thank you!
