Sunny Sunday, May 17

Good morning ladies

Don't know how many will get on today, but thought I would start a thread anyway.

I have been extreemely OP the past few days, except the extreemely gets erased when my dad brings ice cream and cookies into the house. I have such a hard time saying NO.

I will say no tonight, I think, grrrrrr.

I got a george forman lean mean fat grilling machine for my birthday and I love it. Last night made BBQ chicken on it, wow. I eat so much chicken I will probably turn into one.

Made a wonderful potato salad with no mayo, it was from a cooking light magazine and everyone loved it. Thinking of it all day, made me stay away from the pizza and eat my green salad for lunch so I would have potato salad with my dinner.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Wow potatoe salad with no mayo- that was enjoyed by the family- I have to look into that one. ))) I had my surg on May 4- I still dont have my full appetitie back as of yet- not at all!!!!!!! I am trying so hard to eat healthy because I know it will contibute to the healing process. Its hard sometimes, my husband trys to give me icecream every night, lucky for me I just dont feel for it. Fruits, vegis and fish have been more apealing, the though of grease makes me want to throw up and carbs yuck for right now. We usually have Pizza Friday's- but I did not even miss that -I need to loose about 45lbs so this might be a good thing, just scared my appetite will come back full force and then what!!!

Re: Sunny Sunday, May 17

Hi Besters

Welcome Dream - nice to have another new poster!

I don't get it some days. The scale is up 2 lbs again today. I was positively an angel yesterday. Up/down/up/down. I'm tired of feeling like a yoyo.

but I can only keep plugging along. I will NOT gain back the 100+ I've lost (20's bad enough). I will not! I will not!!!

I'm off to orientation for Girls State. This is the last phase I hope for me until next January. Wish me luck that they all get there next month without my having to drive any of them myself.

Bkft: 1 scrambled egg, 1 slice whole wheat toast, coffee, red grapes
Lunch: 2 toasted tuna melts (2 slices bread) w/cheese & tomato
Dinner: Have no idea - there will be "lite" refreshments after this meeting.
Snacks: I've been popping in a grape or two - they are so huge. Very yummy.

Hugs everyone,
M.

Re: Sunny Sunday, May 17

Good Afternoon my Best s
I've been watching portion control but having a bit more carbs than I can have to lose so been maintaining. Melissa I bet that gain is water weight and you will get a surprise loss soon. I fight that all the time as I'm fighting edema for 8 mo now. Such a downer, even when you know the cause, to see in my case an up to 8lb gain in a day.
Meals today
B - lc bread french toast, , 1 lf crescent roll ( I cheated today)
L - salad, soup
D - chicken baked in mushrooms, small side of potatoes w/ smart balance and spices
S - popcorn
Wishing all an OP and restful Sunday.
Hugs

Re: Sunny Sunday, May 17

Hello PeggieSue, Melissa, and Valorie. And welcome to BEST, dreambig. I have lost 46 lbs, on my way to 80. You will find that posting here really helps you track your meals. That makes a huge difference for me because it keeps me honest!

I just got back from the grocer's and have stocked my fridge with lots of fruits and veggies and my pantry is full of easy, low point snacks. The family is on board and wanting to lose those winter pounds, as well. DD20 has been following her WW plan and is using me to keep her accountable (she can't afford WW meetings and neither can I...) She's down 8 lbs in 6 weeks. She wants to lose 20. All the talk on the chatter thread about blueberries and cherries was too tempting to pass up! I bought both! I think I'll get to the farmer's market on Wednesday to get some fresh berries.

Melissa, my leader says that weighing every day can be frustrating and sometimes counterproductive since daily weight varies so much. It's hard for me NOT to step on that scale every day, though. I am just happy that for me the scale has gone down steadily. I've seen some weight loss programs that recommend weighing only once a month! That would drive me crazy! Hang in there. Force water for a few days and if it's water, it'll all come out in the end!

Valorie, you will share your potato salad recipe, won't you? I'm rather fond of my mom's mustard potato salad.

I am going to try some grilled chicken tonight. I haven't been eating meat well, and I may pay for this later, but DH brought home some "Cowgirl Grillers" from the butcher's block and is very excited about grilling my dinner. How can I say no? (BTW, Cowgirl Grillers get their name from Oklahoma State University. Cowgirls are the girl's sports teams and the grillers are chicken breasts wrapped in a slice of bacon and skewered with red and yellow bell peppers.) They are very good, normally. Tonight, I'll have to choke them down! Nothing is "normal" right now.

I have been a good girl and have walked up and down the stairs several times today to exercise my leg. Calf muscle is very weak and looks shrunken and floppy. Orthopedist says walking the stairs without the boot is the best way to build it up again.

Talk later. See you on chatter!
