I am 34 years old and had my TAH on April 2nd. I am about 6 1/2 weeks post op and have had a very good recovery... until last night..... for the first time I had major sharp shooting pains in my lower abdomen that would come and go every 15 minutes. As I lay there in pain, I realized that I forgot to change my "patch" earlier that day and could that be the reason for the extreme pain? Eventually, at 4am and after I changed my patch, the pain stopped, however I am nervous that it might be a result of scar tissue, adhesions, HRT, cancer..... (I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Ovarian Cancer and the TAH did get rid of it all, thank God, however that is also an additional worry of mine.)
Has anyone else ever had sever stomach pain 6 weeks after surgery? It's just odd how I can be recovering so wel...and now this. The only thing I can think of is that it is a result of timing and when I took my estrogen replacement.
Any thoughts or feedback would be much appreciated!
The best thing you can do is to ask your doctor about it ~ especially if it continues. Six weeks is really only a guide for the initial and vital healing since full recovery can take anywhere from 3 months to a year. Will you let us know what you find out?
