Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

Had my surgery April 15.
Am 56yrs. old and had everything removed. Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)-doctor says I shouldn't take any kind of hormones.
That and the size of my stomach or should I say the size of everything!!!!!
I have difficulty walking too far-feel exhausted most of the time-I am a mess.

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

I am getting help weaning off ERT via the Women-to-Women website. I am taking the Essential Nutrients and the Herbal Equilibrium and have been able to successfully cut the estrogen patch in half so far! I had tried to do this on my own and had failed miserably after only 3 days!! You might try checking this site out!

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

you could try black cohosh or evening primrose they are both natural supplements and should help with the minor symptoms.

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

I am 44 years old, and had a total abdominal hysterectomy on May 18. Everything was taken out. I don't want to take HRT due to my migraines and family history of breast cancer. I also have a kidney disease. I want to go organic and as natural as I can, but the hot flashes (more like it feels like my body is internally on fire and radiating through my pores!) are intense at times. There are products available OTC (I bought mine at CVS), and I am trying a product with Black Cohosh in it. I was told by my doctor and pharmacist that it will help with the mood swings, night sweats, etc. I just started taking it this week and I haven't noticed any change as of yet.

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

Thanks Aerolyn. I've been feeling very nauseated and shaky the past couple of days so I've not taken anything. I get frustrated easily, and my BH reassured me that I forget I just went thru major surgery and I need to slow down (physically and mentally). I'm sure I will find the right combo in time; I have a follow up #2 next Wed and I will talk with doctor more about my options.

Thanks again!

catbob...the remifemin can take weeks to work. The shaking and anxiety are part of the hormone withdrawal of our bodies.

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

Thanks for letting me know. I had a followup today. I've been really sick the past few days with cluster migraines, and the doc thinks it may from what I'm taking. She wants me to use Black Cohosh by itself and see if that helps.

Re: Can anyone recommend anything to take (natural)

Hi
I am 46 yrs and had a full hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. I too do not want to take HRT, due family history of Breast Cancer etc. My hot flashes are really starting to intensify and my energy levels are still low. In 2 weeks time I am going for my post op visit to my gyno. I want to tell her I don't want to take HRT, but I don't know what to do! \My moods are stabalised because I take 50mg of zoloft (anti-depressant) every day and have been for 5 years. Let me know if you come up with any healthy alternatives.
