Pain and Swelling 9 days post op

I had my hysterectomy on the 27th, I still have a lot of pain and swelling. Should I be worried or is this normal. It is very uncomfortable just to sit here in my computer chair and type. I can manage with Vicodine and 800mg of Ibuprofren, BUT the pain never seems to leave and if I attempt to sleep on my side the pain shoots up to about an 8. I had a TAH. Any thoughts. I have seen my doctorshe stated just increase the Vicodine and slow down, BUT I feel like I am sort of listless as it is.

Trulyhis

I'm sorry you're feeling unwell but it's still very early days. A hysterectomy is major surgery, with the intial and vital healing taking approximately 6 weeks. Full recovery can then be anywhere from 3 months to a year.

Have you found our <link> Post-Op Page yet? It's packed with information to help with your recovery.

Please try to rest as much as possible since you've only this one chance to heal properly, and don't hesitate to contact your doctor again if you're at all concerned.

Sending all good wishes as you continue to heal!
