Well, I think my sore throat lasted about 3 days. Not too bad, but I found myself sucking on Ricola cough drops and drinking a LOT of liquids. My favorite was mint tea because it was soothing to the throat and great for gas, too. I would find that I would cough more when I would lay down at night--never bad, but enough to be annoying. Before I knew it, maybe after 4 days, it was gone...

Hope you feel better SOON!

Mine was also like Marisela said - only lasted until about day 4 & then it just went without me even realising it. I also had a slight cough so just drank plenty of fluids & I found ice chips really soothing.

So don't worry, it should be gone soon

Re: sore throat for how long?

My sore throat comes and goes right now. It is dry even with all the water I am drinking. I guess it is normal for three days out of surgery. Kris

I HAD A COMPLICATION FROM THE TUBE. MY SORE THROAT LASTED 2.5 WEEKS AND IT IS STILL NOTICABLE AFTER 8 WEEKS. i WAS TOLD WHEN THEY REPOSITION YOU SOMETIMES THE TUBE DOES A LITTLE DAMAGE TO THE ESOPHAGUS. IN MY CASE THERE WAS MORE DAMAGE THAN USUAL. i TOOK IBUPROPHEN AND ATE COUGH DROPS LIKE CANDY AND NOW I HARDLEY NOTICE IT. MY CASE WAS UNUSAL BUT IF IT LASTS LONGER THAN A WEEK CALLYOUR DR AND SEE WHAT SHE WANTS YOU TO DO. I HAD TO GO TO MY GP. HE DID A GREAT JOB. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!!

HEAL WELL,

KYM
