When will I be able to sit flat on my bottom?

I will be 5 weeks postop on 6-8 and I still can't sit flat on my bottom. I feel I'm not healing properly. I feel tension on my perineum and sutures seem to be coming apart. I can sit on my tail bone but not flat on my bottom. Does anyone know how long this usually takes to heal? Is this part of the posterior and enterocele repair? I'm confused. I see the Dr. on 6-18 for my full exam.

I had my surgery the day after you and i was sitting fine in a week after...i had reparis done also.... maybe you should call your doc.... everyone heals differently...

Do you have sutures on your perineum? Do or did you feel something like stick or something the shape of a q-tip laying horizontal where your perineum is? I do. The sutures are going down following the perineum and the "feeling" is going across. It is like I have a big + there. I'll call the Dr. in the morning. Thanks for the response.

I could not sit flat on my bottom at 3 weeks post op but I found out it was because Ihad a hematoma behind my vaginal cuff.Once I got it drained the pressure and pain in my rear was gone. But it sounds like you have another incision your dealing with on the outside? I would definately talk to your Dr. about it.

I wasn't able to sit for a very long time. In fact it still hurts. My problem was diagonsed after two years as pelvic muscle spasms and pelvic floor dysfunction caused by post op complications. I'm in internal physical therapy.
