Total TAH/Sudden Menopause Cannot Take HRT

Its been quite some time since I've posted. I'm still dealing with anxiety, weight gain, hot flashes, fogginess, mood swings & insomnia. I currently take Remifemin (Black Cohash) & Evening Primrose Oil daily plus a multivitamin & calcium. I also take Ambien regularly.

My doctor suggested Lexapro but I'm afraid of gaining any more weight and being any more "foggy". I'm not sure if I should try the Lexapro & not take the herbs & ambien. I tried the Lexapro a few weeks ago & stopped since it bothered my stomach. I don't know how long it takes for your system to get used to it but I stopped it after 1 week.

I hate to take so many different things especially since I'm not getting much relief

Any suggestions?

Re: Total TAH/Sudden Menopause Cannot Take HRT

Maybe since the Lexapro bothered your stomach you can try another medication. I believe some have had results with Effexor for hot flashes and moods.

If the black cohosh is not working for you then I would not continue with it. Herbs take a long time to work in the body and if you have given them at least 4 weeks and they have not ,then it probably won't. I tried black cohosh and it did not work for me.

A member here mentioned Complete Balance where you take specific pill for am and then one for the pm. and says it is working for her. I have seen this in Wal-mart and drug stores like CVS, etc.

Hope you find some relief soon.
