Did some of you lose weight?

Hi ladies!

I am a bit on the chubby side and hope that I will lose weight during my recovery from TVH/Anterior repair. For me, being away from work, etc. and having this over with will be a major stress reducer which is when I eat! I am looking at this as a time to start walking regularly and eat better. I hope after I return to work I can keep up these good habits. I just HOPE I do not get all depressed during recovery and have my face in a pint of Ben and Jerry's!!! Have other had positive weight loss experiences during recovery. I other words, was it a springboard to getting you to lose weight?

Did some of you lose weight?

I had the uterus the size of a basketball and a couple of huge fibroids. My uterus was the size of a 16-18 week pregnancy. Did I lose weight? I weighed the same amount the day before surgery and as the day after. Some luck, huh??

Did some of you lose weight?

Hi

Yes, I believe it's highly feasible to loose weight after a hyst, especially if, like me, your uterus was the size of 16 to 20 week pregnancy However, it's important to remember that you will only be walking for recovery and not to exercise. It is also important to not restrict your food consumption after surgery, since you will need a balanced diet for recovery.

Of course, if you eat a healthy, balanced diet, chances are you will maintain your weight, even loose some. Just don't set your expectations too high. You'll have plenty of time, once you're further along on the road to recovery, to start your brand new, healthy life.

Wishing you the best of luck and commending you on your determination.

lost a bit

Hi there...I had a TAH/BSO with a tummy tuck. The plastic surgeon told me he took about 6 lbs. of fat and skin off of my abdomen. When I got home from the castle, I weighed myself...exactly 6 lbs. less than before I went in. I think that I still had some IV fluids in me because I have gradually lost another 9 lbs. (I'm 17 days post-op) I sure hope to keep this up but have just realized that I didn't have much of an appetite until the past few days so I really didn't eat much. My dh finally got some fresh fruit and veggies so I'm hoping that will help. (He could live on chips and cheese ) I have held steady at this weight for about 4 days now...am walking about a mile a day and drinking tons of water. I'm ready to get over this plateau and lose some more???

Take care...Sue

Did some of you lose weight?

Hi, I had been wondering the same thing about losing weight from losing the uterus. Eileen and Danielle - you mentioned having very enlarged uterus - did you feel flatter or relief of pressure or emptiness?? Do you get what I am trying to ask? LOL My gyn says mine is the size of a soccer ball approaching basket ball - a few weeks ago I was visiting my MIL in the hospital and as I passed a woman who was sitting on a bench with her child - the kid pointed at my middle and said BABY! -

my best to all of you,
