Rectocele Post Op

I had a TVH 6 weeks ago and have now developed a rectocele. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what are you doing about it? My surgeon is blowing me off. I cannot imagine just ignoring this, it is very uncomfortable.

Re: Rectocele Post Op

find another pelvic floor specialist or something then rectoceles can be very painful

so please....get another opinion....

i had mine before my hyster and got it fixed at the same time i had my hyster

but sometimes i wonder if it is back as i feel a lot of pelvic floor pain at times...especially when urinating or having a bowel movement

good luck to you.. you don't have to live like that

hugs,

Rugo... I found a rectocele not long after my LAVH. I don't know if I had it before and it just wasn't discovered during my operation. I remember having to put pressure on the area between my vagina and rectum sometimes before my operation. but of course i had never heard of prolaspe so i just though i was help ing the poo out quicker(TMI) Anyway i was informed to do kegals and have everyday. My rectocele is high up it is not protruding out of the vagina. I would have never known it was there if i had not been burning. I took a mirror and checked stuff out while i was on the toilet!
I am taking estratest and kegaling. I am still riding my gaited horse and kegaling while riding. i am not going to get this fixed until it gets problamatic. i am very upset that i have it. i feel cheated so to speak that i was blessed with this! I don't know why somethings happen...

Kyredhed- Thanks for your reply; it does help to know that others have the same issues. It is wierd to have to put pressure down there to completely eliminate bowels. Amazing how it works though!!! I assume you continue to do this? I agree with waiting for more surgery until it really becomes an issue (as in prolapse)
