Experience is kinda freaking me out

Hi,

This morning I had some bleeding and have been crampy and spotty today after sexual activity last night. I know that I am drier and tighter than ever and it felt like a scrape when my husband was used his finger (sorry if too personal). This is the first time that I have had this experience and it's kinda freaking me out.

Re: Experience is kinda freaking me out

Hi!

I'm sorry that you had that experience and can understand how it could freak you out.

I hope you have talked to your doctor about what happened, for peace of mind if nothing else. It sounds like you may be experiencing vaginal dryness. If the tissues are lacking in estrogen they aren't as moist and elastic as they should be. You could try using an over-the-counter personal lubricant but if that isn't effective, you may want to discuss with your doctor the option of using vaginal estrogen if you're a candidate to try it.

I use vaginal estrogen as a part of my hormone therapy and it really does make a difference where lubricants alone were ineffective. Here's a link to some good information that you may find helpful: Vaginal Dryness.

There are other causes for vaginal bleeding post-op. For example, around 7 months post-op my doctor found that I had a lot of granulation tissue which bled easily with touched. That was the cause of the post-op bleeding/spotting that I experienced. There's more information about that in this link: Vaginal Cuff Granulation – Silver Nitrate – Cauterization.

Let us know what the doctor says, okay?

Re: Experience is kinda freaking me out

I have been using the vaginal estrogen twice a week and also am using Astroglide for lubrication. I was surprised how much those two things have helped. Definitely talk with your doctor and rule out anything else but then I think these two things are worth considering.
