Adrenal Fatigue

I am three years post op, complete hysterectomy. I have been in the jungle (trying to get some balance) for the past two years. Doing some what better except for energy levels and the terrible weight gain.

My endo tested me and learned my cortisol was 3 and my human growth hormone is very low.

I go for a stimulation test of both in July.

What kind of treatment can I possibly except. I have read lots of things on the net from injections to pills. What is the normal treatment?

Re: Adrenal Fatigue

I had saliva testing that showed very low cortisol and very low DHEA. I was then put on DHEA supplements daily plus an adrenal support capsule twice daily. Haven't had it retested but 7 months later, feel much better. I weaned off the DHEA as it was causing cystic acne (excess male hormone symptoms). Am still taking one of the adrenal supplements daily.

If you have the bloodwork that confirms adrenal fatigue, they could put you on prescription cortisone (oral) to bring back up levels, and possibly DHEA too. Don't know about the human growth hormone thing though.

Re: Adrenal Fatigue

Thanks for the info calypso. My DHEA levels along with estrogen, progesterone, etc. are fine. Just the human growth hormone and cortisol levels are low, the cortisol levels are very low.

I hate the idea of cortisone, I have already gained weight, the last thing that I need is more weight thanks to the cortisone.
