Tummy flu plus 2 1/2 weeks post hysterectomy = PAIN PAIN PAIN

Well, I was feeling WONDERFUL after my LAVH hysterectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had minimal pain....That was UNTIL I caught a tummy bug. I was puking for a day....It was TERRIBLE. The actual being sick was nothing compared to the amount of pain that was caused to my abdominal area. I am still in more pain now then I was the day after my hysterectomy. I called the on call nurse in the middle of the night because I was so worried that I tore something in the hysterectomy sight. She said that unless I am bleeding like I was on my period to not worry about it. She then told me to try to get some Imodium AD and keep it down. Well, it did not stay down and I had one of the worst, most painful nights of my life! So the next morning I called my Dr. and he ended up calling in a script to stop the puking....Which, I must say was the best thing in the world because I stopped puking. BUT now I am in TERRIBLE pain. I don't have any pain meds left (I only took them the first week post op...never asked for a refill cause I thought I was all well) What can I do??? My husband has to work a full shift tonight (10 plus hours) so I am just miserable. I feel like I am back to square one!

Any tips???? Should I try something besides IBprofin?

Thanks in Advance gal.

Wow...I am so sorry. The ibuprofen alternated with tylenol is all I can think of....I had a stomach bug not long after I got out of the hospital but I had diarrhea with it....I hope you feel better soon. If not better by Monday I would call the dr.

I hope you feel better soon. Maybe cold packs?

I am soooo sorry you are sick.

Maybe call the doc. and ask just how much ibuprphen you can take? I know that the dosing is bigger with a prescription. Also, alternating it with Tylenol works for me.

Got any pedialyte? Gatorade?

Cold packs may help, too.

Lord, please help my sister here. Give her relief and healing. Amen.
