Re: Surgical stockings

If you are up walking, I would say you probably don't need them anymore... it is my understanding that they help cut down on blood clots while we are always laying in bed... (Just my opinion... it wouldn't hurt to call your doctor.)

Re: Surgical stockings

I only had mine for the week I was in hospital in bed. Once I came home and was able to walk around, they were gone.

You should talk with your doctor about it before doing anything though.

Hugs.

Re: Surgical stockings

If the doctor told you to wear the stockings, why not give a call and ask when you can stop? I had the pressure type stocking pump on for 2 days at the hospital and then once I began walking regularly on day 3 (I had a 6 day stay,) they were removed and I put regular socks on.
