10 weeks Post-Op - Reassurance for Ladies Early in Their Recovery

I am 10 weeks post op (TVH Kept Ovaries) and wanted to write a post to reassure everyone that is early in their recovery that you WILL get better and FEEL better with TIME and REST. Like most of you, I worried from day 1 that I wouldn't heal properly and would mess something up. I would log on everyday to see what others had written and see if every pain, twinge, spasm, ache etc. that I felt was NORMAL and if other women were experiencing the same thing. I came to realize that most of us DO experience the same after effects from this surgery. Some days are better than others; don't get discouraged! Some weeks are better than others......don't get discouraged. I thought I was getting better and then would relapse and be in tears; it felt like I was never going to be my old self (so to speak). Then, with a little rest, I'd feel better again. This happened several times; (it drove my husband crazy - he calls me Fredia Fretter because I worry so much). Please know that you will feel better, it's just a slower process than we would like! We live in a society of instant gratification, instant everything, including instant recovery and I learned that healing from a hysterectomy is not quick. I wish you all the best. Take care of yourself and get lots of REST.

THANKS apple for the encouragement. I am four weeks out and there are times I wonder will I ever be 100% and then I have to realize it has only been a month since I had surgery, I need to give my body time.
