strange gel-like discharge after sex

OK.. a little help here. I had LSH in Dec 08. Bleeding continued from my cervix.. so I had the cervix removed vaginally. After the first surgery, I went back to resume sex 4 weeks after surgery with no problems. Since the cervix was removed vaginally, I had to wait 6 weeks. At the 6 week appt. my doc. said the stitches were still there and to hold off another week on sex, so I did. I then had sex for the first time.. and had a strange discharge. DH did not pull out on climax.. but then when he did.. there was a strange white-ish gel like discharge on him.. and coming out of me. I thought perhaps it was the stitches. Days later.. I got a yeast infection. I was treated with diflucan (2 pills) and a 7day internal cream after the pills didn't work. For me, that is a lot of treatment to get rid of the yeast. Regardless, it seemed to be gone. So, we tried sex again.. and once again, after we were completed.. he had the white-gel like substance on him. I'm wondering could it be from the stitches area- like surface tissue from the healing vaginal cuff?? Has anyone else had this stuff?? I'm not itching this time.. and sex was comfortable.. everything seemed fine except for this strange "tapioca" like gel after the fact. I would love to hear anyone else's experience.. and if this is normal healing of the vaginal cuff. Thank you in advance for any replies!

Re: strange gel-like discharge after sex

Sorry you are having this happening to you.

I had a similar thing on and off since my operation in March and each time it seems to be the start of thrush/yeast infection. Perhaps the infection has not cleared up properly since you had it the last time?

I do find being very vigilant about remaining clean, not using harsh cleaners and bathing/showering before and after sex helps. Lastly after sex I use a syringe to 'flush' myself out with warm water - this for me has helped keep the infections at bay.

Hope it helps, good luck!

Re: strange gel-like discharge after sex

Hi the second post made me wonder. Is the discharge from you or your husband? Maybe you both need to be evaluated by the doctor. Often men can be symptom free carriers. Not facts - just thoughts.
