Re: Brown discharge ~ anyone else?

Hi Cyndi: I had no discharge or bleeding until my 2nd week. I will be hitting the six week mark in two days and have since the 2nd week had a very small amount of brownish discharge. I was told to expect this. If there is no foul odor suggestive of infection, I would guess all is going according to plan. Good luck and happy healing!!

Re: Brown discharge ~ anyone else?

The brown discharge is normal from what my doctor has told me, she said that is will go away. I am looking forward at this point to being free of ALL discharge from the surgery! LOL. Good luck and blessings to all.

Yes, it is normal. My doctor warned me about it before I ever left the hospital. Good luck and happy healing!

Re: Brown discharge ~ anyone else?

I have had the same happen to me since I was in hospital. I am now 3 1/2 weeks post op and I am still getting a small amount of brown spotting, but not much. I believe this is completely normal and may carry on for several weeks. Good luck.

Re: Brown discharge ~ anyone else?

Somewhere on this site, I read that the brownish can be stitches dissolving. I have it too--very intermittently, not corresponding w pain or exertion. So I'm inclined to believe it's the stitches.
