1 Year post op and hurting

I had a vaginal hysterectomy 1 year ago. I am still experiencing pain every now and then. Today was one of my bad days. It hurts to walk, to sit, to go to the bathroom. It hurts when the car is bumpy. It feels like I am recovering from a new hysterectomy surgery. Has anyone experienced post op pain so long after surgery? Not sure if I need to see the doc or if this is normal. I can only explain it by saying that my guts hurt.

Re: 1 Year post op and hurting

You need to see the doctor....the pain is telling you that something is going on. I think I would go to my reg. GP first and see what he/she has to say. But you need to be seen by someone. Could be scar tissue from the surgery.

hubbala

I'm sorry you're experiencing this and agree with ((Lady63)) that you should see your doctor since this is the only way to find out if something is amiss.

Will you let us know what you find out? Sending all good wishes!

Re: 1 Year post op and hurting

What kind of activity were you doing prior to not feeling well?
I am 3 months post op from a TVH (kept ovaries) and I can do most activities however, if I do any lifting, where I use the muscles in my abdomin and pelvis area I end up achy down in the vaginal area and can feel that I've strained something. I would have throught 3 months out I would be healed, but I think it takes a lot longer. I just try to be aware of my limitations and every now and then try again to lift a little more than last time.
Please let us know what you find out from your doctor. I hope you are feeling better soon.
