Lower abdominal pain/pressure on bladder

Just had a vaginal hysterectomy on 7/15 and came home on 7/16. I think I'm doing ok but I'm feeling a lot of pain and pressure on my bladder and want to know if this is normal? I am urinating a lot. No BM's yet. Help!

I had a rough week with my bladder and bowels after my TVH. You may need a stool softener or in my case I had to resort to a Fleet's enema to get things going. As for the bladder, mine wouldn't even work and I had to wear a catheter home for 3 additional days. Even at almost 3 weeks out my bladder feels touchy at times. The gas is unbelieveable and rendered me to shaking and crying when I tried to go to the bathroom, but I had a rectocele repair which I assumed was the root of most of my pain. Who knows. I can tell you that it got a lot better after the first week. I also upped my fruit intake and that helped get me moving too.

I felt alot of pain and bladder pressure for several days after my tah/bso. I tend to have lots of problems with my bladder after surgery. Do give your doctor a call to be sure that this is normal for you.
