Right side pain 9 months after hysterectomy?

Just wondering if anyone else might be having this problem. I'm not particularly active but have been trying to "do more" the past couple months. More daily movement and hoping to get to real exercise soon.

Was on vacation last week and we did a lot of walking. The pain in the area of my stitches from LAVH is back again! It's inside, deep in my side. I'm pretty sure it's related to the LAVH since it's in the same spot and is very much like what I had two and three months after surgery.

Has anyone else had pain this long? Ugh, I just want it to be over!

Thanks!

Re: Right side pain 9 months after hysterectomy?

Hi (((skallsen)))

I have also been conservative with my activity level post op and have really only been walking for exercise. I am waiting until my swelling appears to be totally gone before I work on strenghthening exercises again. I feel like as long as the swelling is still there that my body is trying to protect that area.

It seems likely that your new activity level is causing some readjusting for your body. Maybe just ease back a bit until your body tells you it's ready for more. And of course, if it is intense, a call to your doctor would be best. Take care!

Re: Right side pain 9 months after hysterectomy?

Thank you for the reply!

I can't really tell if there is or isn't swelling since I'm pretty big. But the pain is certainly there after lots of walking.

I had trouble with pain and bleeding after exercise BEFORE my hysterectomy. I am still having some small bleeding after really active days (very small, much better than before) and this annoying side pain.

Is it really possible that even 9 mos after surgery I'm still having recovery issues? My first surgery so I guess I don't know what to expect.

Thanks again!
