Colonoscopy

Hello Sisters,
Had a colonoscopy yesterday to rule out any problems before proceeding with yet more examination for possible adhesions. The prep was dreadful. Had to drink Colyte which is a flavored laxative every 30 min.(4 liters) till finished. Started at noon didn't finish till 9:30. Threw out the last cup because I couldn't stomach another mouthful. Although I was sedated, it wasn't enough. The procedure was very painful. Outcome...my colon is healthy. So its back to the Gyn. to determine what is causing the cramps. (TAH 1 yr. ago July) Same symptoms as you sisters with adhesions, I'm sure that is what I have. I will post as soon as I know more. Wish me luck. Just want to feel good again.

hope your feeling better

that golytle id dreadfull i would never do it again i throw it up! You probley do have adhesions cause i know i do! I also get cramps and sharp shooting pain! I swear i wish thes dr's would do a lap to do a second look about 6 months after surgery. Because then we would'nt have to go through all those awful test it would save us the time and the trowing up! I know they want to rule things out but i swear! I think these gyn's need to be more educated in adhesions! I'm fighting the same battle! You hang in there keep us posted!

I understand

Hi,
I had a colonoscopy at the end of June, prior to my surgery - lap for adhesions and posterior repair. Yes, that prep is awful. My colonoscopy showed I have diverticulosis - not a good thing but it wasn't totally responsible for all of my pelvic pain. The lap I had Aug. 13 showed I had adhesions mainly around and on the sigmoid colon, which is lower left in the pelvic area. No GI tests were able to tell if I had the adhesions except the lap. I wish you good luck and good health. May you soon find the healing you deserve.
Love, Light, Blessings
