High Blood Pressure

Am wondering if any sisters have a history of high blood pressure and if after having a hyst if eventually there was any improvement? My internist felt that my anemia played a part in my irregular heart beat problems. I'm only about 3 weeks post VH, so am not expecting and immediate miracles (am constantly reading that recuperation takes 6-12 mos) but would like to hold out hope. Thanks

High blood pressure!!

Hi Aspi5, yes I had high blood pressure for about 2 years when I had my surgery. My MD thought it was my weight. I try unsuccessfully all the time to lose weight, but alas to no avail. Anyway I have been on two blood pressure meds for a year now. And each period I had was harder and harder on my body because of my blood pressure. Still none of my s caught what I knew. After my surgery my BP came down and has stayed down since. The MD changed one of my BP meds and he thinks that was it, but we will never know. I still think it was the surgery. I had one period that I seemed to not be able to start and was weird feeling. My DH took my BP and it was 190/109. He was really worried. I took my BP meds and started my period and it came down. That was when I started thinking ok surgery is my only option. I tried everything hormones, pain meds, BC pills. nothing helped. I feel like a new person. Don't think I could have went on too much longer with out it. Good Luck Hope your surgery has helped.

High Blood Pressure

I have had LOW blood pressure all my life, DR put me on steriods at one time to raise it (did not work). Had bad ovary removed in January, (insurance refused hyst). Developed High blood pressure 2 weeks later, suffered with it for 2 months, many tests showed NO reason for high BP--dissapeared as fast as it came. 1 week post-op from hyst (that anthem FINALLY approved) so far so good, but waiting for BP to rise again. DR thinks may be a mixture of anathesia (SP) and hormones--time will tell, but will keep you posted

GOOD LUCK

Lori
