I didn't do HRT but I know hormones being out of whack can really make you feel bad. My ovaries didn't wake up for a while & I felt like I was loosing my mind. I am sure others will have more advice for you. All I can say is hang in there.

Re: 5 months post surgery and not feeling well

I keep changing my hrt, I was on vivelle patch at .1 and felt like a bus ran over me and was super nausaus (sp?) so I just switched to .075 and now feel like screaming at everyone! I think it just takes time to adjust everything? Hope things get better!

Hi, you are not alone, TAH 26.05.09 and I feel the same and boss is pressurising me to go back to work in 1.5 weeks. I am very unstable and am going back to DR next Thursday to see what he says. Am taking low dose of htr which I think needs checking.

Re: 5 months post surgery and not feeling well

Hi, I am almost 4 months post-op and know EXACTLY how you feel. I have had complications with my surgery( everything removed) and I seem to be slipping further and further into anxiety and depression. I am totally not myself. I cannot seem to function and my gyno seems to think it has nothing to do with my hormone levels although he won't test them. My groin area is almost messed up.

I feel just as lost as you and cannot return to work yet either. People don't understand what they haven't been through, but just know that you are not alone. I think many of us were not properly informed of the effects that a hysterectomy on your psyche. I am seeing a counsellor, psychiatrist, physiotherapist, gyno and my family physician, and I feel like a major loser. Most days I cannot even make it out of the house.

So, I hear ya sister!

Hang in. I hope you find normalcy soon.

I am also stressing as I don't know anyone else on this site who has been off as long as me. I notice you had u op. in April this year. I thought I may have set a record for being off the longest!Everyone seems to be getting on with it but me.

Re: 5 months post surgery and not feeling well

I hear you! I had a very complicated surgery and what I am trying to convince myself is something a nurse I met yesterday said to me. She said, "You only have one chance at healing properly, so GO AS SLOWLY or as QUICKLY as your body is telling you to". And if people don't understand, it is nothing we haven't been through before, correct?

Hang in.
