Back to Work - No Problems

Hi all,

I officially got back to work yesterday on my part time and today on my full time. Between both jobs I must admit that I expected to be drained, but so far I'm not. If anything, I seem to have a very high energy level which is amazing to me. Don't worry, at the first sign of anything not feeling right, I'm going to sit down or go home.

The great part about all of this is that everyone I run into comments on "how great" I look. So I've come to the conclusion that I must have looked really bad prior to surgery.

I'm on my full time job now, and the shift is half way over. I know that I am looking forward to getting off at 6:00 a.m., just to go home and go to sleep.

Take care to all of you and may your recovery becomes something that you really enjoy. I learned very early that it is not the surgery that causes you problem . . . but the recovery thereafter.

God Bless All of You!

Re: Back to Work - No Problems

my job already got me wore out! my feet hurt, my back hurts, and I have a headache

it was nice, however, to have some of my clientele tell me that they had missed me

but as far as it being related to post surgery-no problems there. maybe some swelly belly and increased numbness. I try not to lift or bend as much...

Re: Back to Work - No Problems

Hallescomet,

I have all restrictions lifted EXCEPT lifting over 8 lbs for 6 more weeks and basically that is for me to know my limitations and I don't get crazy. I am a PC tech, so I move a lot of PCs, printers, laptops, etc., around and my doc knows this. She wrote my release papers for my job to reflect this so I don't pull anything too soon.

I am glad to see that you are doing well too. It feels great, and I agree with you that it is hard to believe its been 6 weeks. Take care of yourself!

Congrats! I'm so glad you're doing well and are back to work.

This is just a baby step, but today I went to the grocery store and picked up a few things (under 10 lbs of course)!

Re: Back to Work - No Problems

Great news! I'm looking forward to getting back in the swing of things myself. I had my 3 week-post op dr's appt on 7/28-not released for work until 8/17, I was a little disappointed but this way I can take more care of myself. I had a TAH with both ovaries removed. Still numb and sore but I'm able to drive and some shopping. Not lifting anyting heavy and paying attention to my body. Keep up the good work and listen to your body. You go girl!

Re: Back to Work - No Problems

Mscleo it is amazing how much energy I have. I even went walking for 40 minutes, and was so surprised at how great I felt afterwards. My surgery was an absolute plus for me!

Jeanne, baby steps are just as important as big steps. Take care of your self first and foremost.

JaeByrd thanks and you keep listening to your body.

Thanks to all of you ladies on this great site!!!!
