Urethra- Who can tell me about it...

I have hesitated to ask this...But Its bothering me.
I am having peeing issues since my Surgery.
I was looking at things down there...And I dont recall my Urethra being that large or visable before.

Can an infection or just trauma from surgery cause this to swell?

Thanks

Re: Urethra- Who can tell me about it...

Mine was really much larger too after surgery which I chalked up to having been cathed. It shrunk back to regular size so hopefully time will take care of it for you too.

Re: Urethra- Who can tell me about it...

I had all the symptoms of a UTI but I never really had one. The doctor said the bladder goes through a lot of trauma being pulled to the side for the whole operation. & Then there is the catheter. I had problems peeing for about the first 4 weeks. Into the 5th week my bladder started to go back to normal & now is fine. There was a bit of swelling down there from the catheter. Sounds normal. If you run a fever then you want to get checked for a UTI. Best wishes.
