Re: How long for all these problems to settle down ??

i still have my ovaries.
i'm having hot flashes and night sweats and anxiety.
i always have anxiety though.......it just takes time.
be sure that you are resting and not overdoing it......
drink the water lot and take care of yourself.
Your Doctors office should be more than happy to talk to you
and ease your fears about what is and is not normal.
My Doc's nurse told me that it was normal to be super tired one
week post op. Now i'm 10 days and it seems to be getting a little bit better.

My doctor says your body can take up to a year to completely heal. However, in 2-3 months you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel. Don't rush it, take the time to heal and you will feel better.
Best wishes!

You are completely normal! I am 5 weeks post op and still get a bit more tired than I did before surgery. I had a TAH-BSO and get hot flashes a few times a day. I found I was more emotional when I was really tired the first two weeks after surgery. It's much better now. I can be pain free all day if I am careful how much I do during the day. Today I walked around the mall with my daughter and my tummy is swollen and sore. (It was worth it!)

This will get better for you. Week four for me was a turning point. I could feel myself getting back to normal more and more every day.

Re: How long for all these problems to settle down ??

I'm in my 6wk post op. I wasn't sure I believed the girls who said it gets better, but believe me it does. I had a TAH w/ovaries removed. I still have some sensation inbetween my belly button and my incision. It's worse at night and soo I don't sleep well. But there are a lot of women who have recovered quite nicely. Take the advice of doing things slowly and following doctor's orders. I think I was doing to much after surgery. I had terrible night sweats b/f and after surgery. I just recently got on the DOT. So it seems to be helping. Good Luck with your recovery. Utilize the website imensely, there is a lot of useful information on here. Lucky for you - you know how to post a question already. It took me weeks to figure out how to post a question.
