Internal Stitches

I am almost 8 weeks post op for TAH and when I went for my six week visit the doc told me that many of my internal stitches were not dissolved so she put me off work for another two weeks. I've heard many people say they bled whenever their stitches were dissolving but I've only spotted one time and I made the doc aware of that. She didn't seem concerned but I'm just wondering are there any other sisters out there that never really spotted or bled after their surgery? I'm hoping I'm just a really lucky girl!!!!

Thanks!!

Re: Internal Stitches

I had bleeding for the first two weeks and then it tapered down to a yellow discharge and then pale yellow to almost white. I only have it occasionally at this point and I'm just under seven weeks post op for a tvh. I think we are all different..... but if you were to all of a sudden get some sort of discharge that you didn't have previously, I'd put a quick call in to the Doctor. Better to be safe!!!

Re: Internal Stitches

I'm 5 1/2 weeks out and haven't spotted or bled either! I bled enough in the first 6 mos of this year to last a lifetime so I'm more than glad to not even be spotting!!!

Re: Internal Stitches

The Dr. told me that I would know, but I never saw anything and no bleeding either. I am not complaining. Dr. cleared me for all activity so I guess I am okay.

Re: Internal Stitches

I'll be 20 days post-op on Monday and I am STILL spotting!

My dr. said it could be like this for 4 weeks -- I guess I am the test case for it, because I've spotted since being in the hospital and now almost 3 weeks later

It's not much and some days it's lighter than others, but I want it to stop. I am being treated for an infection as well, but yeesh!

I'm 6 weeks post-op today. I haven't had any bleeding or noticed any stitches coming out.
