On the 7 month anniversary of my surgery...

Tomorrow will be the 7 month anniversary of my surgery. On that day, I'll be participating in a two-day 150-mile bicycle trip to raise money for multiple sclerosis research. A bike trip of that distance (and time) means I'll have plenty of time to think. And believe me, I'll definitely be thinking about where I was 7 months ago. I'll also think about how disabled I felt in the many months of healing that followed. (Even three months ago I didn't think I'd be capable of participating in this event but the last 2-1/2 months I've finally felt like my old self again.) I'll also be thinking about all of my sisters--those of you who've recovered and moved on as well as those of you who are wondering if you'll ever get through the healing and recovery. I am so blessed to have my health and I'll ask God to Bless all of you!!!!

Bren,

Thanks for stopping in to let us know you are doing so well. I think it's wonderful that you're doing this race for such a worthy cause. I have a beautiful sister-in-law who has MS. I'm happy to hear that you're hyst an recovery are behind you now, and that you can start living a full life again.

On the 7 month anniversary of my surgery...

I, too, just passed the 7 month mark and I'm feeling great. My husband and I spent a few days in NC over the Memorial Day week-end and I just beamed when I realized that I could go to the beach AND into the water any time I wanted to. Tampons were never enough for me when I was bleeding so swimming was out of the question when I had my period. I was in heaven this time around! I love wearing light, summer clothes, (whites and light khakis were not in my closet until this summer!) too. I hope all the LIWs and post-op ladies will read these posts and remember that there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!

JoAnne, I think it's wonderful that you can finally enjoy life again. It's nice not to have to plan everything around the bleeding and cramps. You sound great. Thanks for letting us know how well you're doing.

Thanks for posting... I'm at about 5 1/2 months and can't see the light at the end of the tunnel... perhaps another few months will do it.

On the 7 month anniversary of my surgery...

Linda, Bren and Joanne,

It was great to see posts from all of you! Very nice to see familiar names. Sorry it took so long for me to get to this board, I should get here more often. It seems I keep missing all the update posts! It's wonderful to know that as we all come up on a similar anniversary, that we all seem to have ended up on such a good path. Isn't it incredible that the 6 month mark is such a turning point, and then the 7 month mark, we reflect on what we struggled through?
