Re: Prolapse Question....

I cannot wait for my surgery next week. Especially with the way I've been feeling the last couple of days. I can't wait to be free of this feeling, problems and issues. I am counting down the days - 4 1/2 days!!!

BlueEyedWonder & Laceytaffy, I'm happy your surgeries were a success and hope mine is too!!!

Re: Prolapse Question....

Thanks! Surgery went so well that I am sitting here wondering "Did I really have it?" The only reason that I know is that there is no longer the bulge down south - taking a whiz is so normal now!

Anyone have a TVH - don't be scared - mine went so well. I also had my bladder lifted a bit. YAY!

Re: Prolapse Question....

Laceytaffy...may be personal but did it hurt sometimes, a little, when you 'whizzed'? It does for me, but only when that pressure is really bad and my back hurts.

Re: Prolapse Question....

Hi Wen03 - I can honestly say no pain at all......even going to the bathroom (urinating). If just feels so good to actually go normal like in the good 'ol days.

I can say though that it is an odd feeling to have to pee - it's more like a pressure right now. I am thinking that once things settle down in there I will have the normal response to have to use the restroom. I hope so anyway.

I awoke in the middle of the night with alot of pressure in my abdomen - headed to the restroom and sure enough I had to go pretty bad.....so not sure what's up with that...but I am letting the healing begin.

I hope you're doing okay to0 - it's nice to get it over with.

Re: Prolapse Question....

Thanks Laceytaffy, my fellow Michigander!!!

Just can't wait to have it over with! Of course, the month of September happens to be the busiest time for my doc so I had to wait a month rather than the normal 2ish weeks!!! But, it will all be over soon! Can't wait....

Re: Prolapse Question....

I saw where you were from too! It will be over with in no time - and don't worry about it! It will be fine. I concentrated on all the good things I had read and I truly think that it got me in the right frame of mind for the surgery. Positive vibes being sent your way!

But that feeling of pressure is all too familiar with me. Many an evening the cervix would be just inside and I was afraid it wouldn't take much to come all the way out again. I'm so glad to be finally free of it. Here I am 11 days post op and feel wonderful!

Good luck with your surgery!
My doctor will be only doing a vaginal hysterectomy and says that should fix my cystocele and rectocele as my uterus is way down.Heres hoping shes right and i dont have to have any more surgery.

Re: Prolapse Question....

My surgery went well. They thought I'd have to get the cystocele and rectocele, but once they got the uterus out of the way everything went back into place.

Peeing was, and is still painful to some extent. But it's because of the cath, it's not as painful as it was a few days out so suspect it'll stop being a concern before too long.

Lacy, I too have that Did I really do that line of thought. Keep having to remind myself I can't do <X> and can't lift that yet. Tomorrow will be my 2 week mark, and I know it's going to be even harder to remember it as the weeks tick slowly by.
