Re: KY Jelly burns me

(((Jenn1014))) Are you using any type of vaginal estrogen? One symptom of vaginal dryness can be sensitivity to the chemicals in lubricants and other products when we weren't sensitive before.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

I actually am not on nay type hormone or anything. I di have vaginal fistula repaired in June. I have had alot happen since my hyster and I did have ovaries removed. My poor body has been through so much this last year. I am a litttle scared of the hormones.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

Wow, I'm kind of surprised the DR who repaired the fistula didn't put you on at least some vaginal estrogen. It's not the same thing as systemic HRT - stays in the walls of the vagina to keep them healthy. I'd encourage you to ask the DR about this because it could make a huge difference, not just in terms of sensitivity to the KY but also for healing and urinary tract health.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that I also have a sensitivity to some KY (and other) products. You might want to try a water based product to see if it makes a difference.

I also use vaginal estrogen which has helped tremendously with the dryness, and had to try a couple of different ones before finding one that doesn't cause irritation. We are all different. Don't give up, keep trying until you find what works for you.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

My pelvic floor therapist said to never use anything with propylene glycol in it -- and many lubes do. A sister on this site recommended a natural lube called Yes that you have to buy online (it's from the UK) and I feel it's WELL worth the price -- and shipping is very reasonable.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

I know I can't use anything that has menthol in it or it burns. You will just have to find the one that works best for you. Best wishes.

Re: KY Jelly burns me

I bought some of that KY Yours/Mine. We haven't used it yet. I don't feel dry but hubby says I am. The commercials looked fun to try but maybe it isn't the right stuff for me. Anyone use Y/M? I see another commercial for KY that is just for women. I might have to buy that to try also but hate the idea if it might burn.
