surg. date getting closer and nervous

My surgery date is only 3 days away. i am getting more nervous as the days go by. I wish I could get it over with already, how long is a TVH supposed to take approx. ? Hubby is getting impatient with me cuz I dont wanna have sex, and he knows we will have to wait at least 6 weeks. Any advise on how to up my libito for now>

All the emotions and nerves before surgery sure can mess with the libido. I was just as worried about the wait and the outcome as my DH. So the Saturday before my surgery I took a xanax (my Dr. had prescribed for pre-surgery anxiety) and we went to dinner. We had a glass of wine and I did everything I could to focus on us and wanting to be close.

It turned out to be a wonderful night and I was so glad we did it.

If you are not in the mood you could always use KY. I know I have been super nervous and have not really had a desire but we have had our anniversary and his b-day. He also knows I am nervous and not to expect a lot from me. I am pretty much doing it just for him. I could live w/out it right now.

hi my surgery date is the same as yours and i too am getting nervous ! i am also having a tvh . i think its pretty normal to not be able to think about sex at this point in OUR lives lol .i wish you well and it helps knowing someone else feels like me right now so thankyou ,ummm my doctor has the or booked 2 hours and 45 mins so aprox . i will be thinking about you thursday morning ,i KNOW we will both do great !!

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but tell him you don't feel well, you're nervous and scheduled for major surgery in just a couple of days and ask if perhaps he could use the larger of his heads and show a little compassion for the next few months. Seriously, posts like these remind me that I have a great husband who loves me. His main concern is my well being. Period. End of story. I hope your honey takes excellent care of you after surgery and I haven't caused any offense. Wishing you all the best.

P.S. My LAVH took one and half hours with no complications.

i had myomectomy removing 11 fibroids last week; beginning to end it took three hrs; my understanding is that hyster/myo can take btwn 45 min and 4 hrs; likely hyster taking less time; go for a run or a really long walk to calm down; in addition take a quiet moment and go breathe; sounds crazy but a few deep breaths make a difference;

also, think of all the reasons why you value your life, family and friends; if you feel like having sex, then do so! if not then don't feel bad; what's most important right now is you and your state of mind;

catapult yourself forward 6 months and think about where you'll be in life!

your surgery will be just fine.......

I agree with the other sisters above.. this time is about you and your needs.. if you DH has to wait 6 weeks (assuming YOU feel like it after this time!!!!), then he can add a couple of days to the wait.

Phew.. MEN! *rolls eyes....
