Pain afer A & P Repair and Bladder Sling

Hello Ladies---
I had surgery 2 weeks ago (Sept. 4th). I am still having quite a bit of pain & swelling in the vaginal/rectal area. I can not sleep on my back. About the best way for me to get rest is sitting up. I still feel like I have to pee all the time. (just like before I had the surgery). I feel so lost. The doctor that did my A & P repair did not even come out & talk to my family after the surgery. I do not have any idea how much repair was done or how bad things looked inside. I was in the hospital for 4 days & he only stuck his head in once, for about 20 seconds....not even enough time for me to ask any questions. I have been back to see the urologisht & he says everything on his end looks good. I go to see the gyncologist later this week. I have a few good days in a row and then a few really bad days. The gyncologsit who did the surgery was referred to me by the urologist. I only saw him one time and that was the appointment before my surgery. Any info would be appreciated........ I feel like I don't have a clue as to what is going on with my body.

Re: Pain afer A & P Repair and Bladder Sling

Texas Wife, I saw your post today and my heart goes out to you. Don't fret yet as this is something that will change every week and you will have to wait a little bit longer to see how things go. I had the same as you done 25 days ago and I cannot pee properly as I posted on this forum today. I just want some info from other ladies like ourselves b ut have to remind myself we are all 100% different. Just keep in touch with this forum to get as much support and advice as you can and everything will dealt with in due time. I send you my wishes for the best. This anterior repair is sooooo uncomfortable! It feels it's all sore and cut up in there and I'm a bit further along than you. Try not to worry, we are all here for each other through this trying time. Best wishes!

Re: Pain afer A & P Repair and Bladder Sling

Texas Wife,

I too had A&P repairs, sling and some other stuff done. First and foremost at 2 weeks I don't think any of us were ourselves. I am presently healing from an erosion correction of the sling (Align) and still have to stand up to pee till I'm empty (I actually don'y really mind this).

So take it easy on yourself and make sure you are getting LOTS of rest!!!

Keep us posted.

Sending hugs!
