Hormones and weight gain

I had the SottoPelle inserted June 15, 2009. It really has stopped the sweats. But I am experiencing weight gain, which I do not like. It has been about 4 months now since my implant. I am just now starting to experiencing a little warmth at night. Wonder why it causes the weight gain? I work out with a trainer 3 days a week and do cardio and still have the weight gain. Has anyone else had the same thing to happen to them?

Re: Has Anyone Had Success With SottoPelle?

I did not gain weight after my pellets but did not lose either... it is not a weight loss plan but a hormonal balance plan. I find that when my hormones are balanced and I feel GREAT, I also eat GREAT! Post-menopause I am learning that protein is my friend, carbohydrates the enemy (potatoes, bread etc..) I did lose a LOT of weight on the Diradore plan and have kept it off but I do have to REALLY monitor my intake. Try not to look at the pellets as a weight loss plan -- it really doesn't work that way. I thought that increased energy would equate weight loss -- it doesn't. It increases appetite! Diet really is key.... nothing worked for me until I started cutting out bad carbs. Try to separate in your mind your benefits from hormone balance & your goals for weight loss. Good Luck!

Re: Has Anyone Had Success With SottoPelle?

Also, you do sound as if you are ready for a new implant. Once one is symptomatic it is probably time to get a new oomph! 4 months is usually the maximum for me before I need a renewal.

Re: Has Anyone Had Success With SottoPelle?

I got the Pelle for day and night sweats, not to lose weight. I did not have a weight problem before the Pellet. The weight came on after receiving the implant. I am not doing anything different as far as my diet and exercise concerns. I workout with my trainer 3 days a week and do cardio. The only thing different is the implant of the Pellet.

Re: Has Anyone Had Success With SottoPelle?

I am really not sure if I am going for another implant. I think I am going to see if the weight is going to start falling off. I think I will be better able to let my physician know what is happening with my body.

Re: Has Anyone Had Success With SottoPelle?

OH FOR SURE... you should talk to your regular doc. This is not an exact science -- I just had my blood work done -- it looked normal -- I don't FEEL normal. My position is this: Sottopelle has been fabulous for ME. NO hot flashes, absolutely none. Will it be perfect for everyone? Probably not. Once my hormones were balanced, THEN I addressed my diet. That was the key for me. You must do the best for yourself given the information you have.
