Hello! Had total abdominal hysto on 9/11/09

Oh, how I wish I had found this site BEFORE my hysterectomy! But I'm glad I found it now. What a Godsend!

Had mine due to severe pelvic pain during menstruation, so bad that I couldn't walk, let alone work. Plus I would be so dizzy and sick that I thought I had some super bad thing wrong.

Before surgery, went through a whole range of tests from colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, CT Scans, ultrasounds, blood work. Nothing revealed. Just pain and sick.

Doc thought possible adenomyosis or maybe endometriosis. But no way to tell for sure unless he opened me up anyhow.

So, I opted for Hysterectomy to stop the debilitating pain because that was what was recommended. And I already have 2 full-grown children and was done with that anyhow.

In my 3rd week of recovery now. Been having a few 2nd thoughts as to whether this was the right choice. But I can't go back now, so I'm all about getting well, making permanent changes in my health, and going on with life.

Finding HRT is making me sick the same as before surgery, only without the pelvic pain. Doc put me on estradiol 2 MG, and I can hardly stand to take it. Maybe it's too strong or something. I don't know. Gonna call tomorrow for alternatives. At this point, I'd rather have hot flashes and night sweats. I was having some of that before my surgery anyhow. But this HRT is just awful! Makes me feel like my head is going to explode with pressure. That can't possibly be right or good.
