Estrogen in fat cells?

Is it true that we retain some estrogen in the fat cells of our bodies? thanks for your replies!!

Yes, it is true. One of the things I have read is that thinner women can require more estrogen because we don't retain the estrogen as well as there is nowhere to store it.

My doctor explained it to me this way. The fat does retain some of the Estrogen but that goes away. He said that overweight women also produce a chemical similar to Estrogen (I don't remember what it was called, something like Estradoil or something) and that I, as an overweight woman, would probably not ever need HRT. It must be true because I've had no hot flashes. I have had some emotional changes and am a little different than I used to be but no real menopause symptoms.
