menopause w/ ovaries?

I’ve been reading info in this section ‘cos I’m back & forth w/ keeping or removing ovaries & like to research. What I read is that even w/ your ovaries after a hyst, you can have menopause. If I keep my ovaries, then there’s a chance I’ll go into menopause still? Would this menop last or is it mostly temporary? I know it’s individualized but I like knowing all avenues.
My doc advised me to keep my ovaries (tho I have endo) so I wouldn’t go into menopause. He didn’t say ANYTHING ‘bout there being a chance, beit temporary or permanent, that I may go into menopause still while my body is adjusting. I wish docs would take the time to cover these details.

Yes, you can still go thru menopause if you keep your ovaries. In fact, you will probably will at some point. The majority of women go thru menopause at some point in their lives, whether they have a hyst or not. When that will be no one can say. Many women keep their ovaries, they continue to function until they reach the age of natural menopause. Than there are others for whom the ovaries shut down sooner than normal.

If you have the ovaries removed, you WILL be in surgical menopause. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

IMHO if the ovaries are otherwise healthy and you do not have a history of ovarian cancer in your family there really isn't a reason to remove them.
