Vagina Cuff Repaired?

I am wondering if there is anyone out there that had to have their vagina cuff repaired after a hysterrectomy? I had a TVH 4 months ago and I am having pain when I sit. It also feels like the cuff is real low inside of me. I am not sure but I am trying to find out the reason.

If anyone has had the cuff repaired, can you please share why and how the doctor discovered the problem.

Thank you so much. I am getting deparate.

Vaginal Cuff Repair

Hi Debbie, After I had my Hyst in February, I was still in SEVERE PAIN!! I had to have Laprascopic Surgery done in May, and once she got in there, she discovered that I had a cyst on my right ovary, and my right ovary had fallen down and adhered itself to my vaginal cuff!! The pain I had was Unbearable!! Especially when I went to sit down, I thought I would pass out the Pain was so Intense!! But after the Surgery, I felt like a new person.Just a word of advice, if you have surgery to repair your vaginal cuff, please remember that you will have numerous stitches on your vaginal cuff, and you will need to take it easy for a few weeks after!! Best of luck to you!!

Vagina Cuff Repaired?

Tweetie,

Thanks for the information. Was it through the laprascopic surgery where they found your problems. Do they do other tests first...like a ultrasound, MRI etc.

I am in the process of finding another doctor who is willing to listen to my complaints and take some action. The doctor who did the surgery is not doing anything to help me. He just says that he has never seen anything like what I am explaining to him.

Any other suggestions I would appreciate.

Thank you so much,
Debbie

Vagina Cuff Repaired?

Hi T-Anne,

I didn't know what a vagina cuff was either until I was looking into having this surgery. I have learned so much through this website.

When they remove the cervix they closed up the area. The doctor described it to me like pinching the end of a sock. That is the best way I can describe it. I think something is wrong with mine, even though the doctor says everything looks okay. I have had pain when whenever I sit for the last 3 months. I am looking for another doctor now...because the doctor who did the surgery isn't doing much to help me.

Thanks for responding to the post.

Vagina Cuff Repaired?

Hi Ihave not been around in awhile . I have had my vaginal cuff opened 3 times since April2001. My hysterectomy was done in Feb 2000. I had to have surgery for 3 fistulas. 2 between the vagina and the intestinal cavity and 1 between the vagina and the bladder. My problem now is that it took so long for the Doc's to find my problems that the tissue is badly damaged and having a problem healing. I had intestinal fluid and urine leaking into my vagina for over a year. I wish you all the best. this is a wondeful site where I always feel welcome.(((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
