Recovering from another surgery

Well I had my second surgery on the 9th. This time it was the old fashion way. I had had my uterus removed back in May and they had to go back in and remove the cervix and the right ovary. I was still having bleeding and alot of pain on the right side. Right before surgery the Doc said "okay we are removing the cervix and right ovary even if it does not need it" I said yes. Well come to find out that ovary had a chocolate cyst and and lots of endrometriosis (spelling). So at least Im not crazy. I only stayed one night in hospital, they let me come home Saturday. Wow big mistake. I ran a fever now for two days and the pain is crazy. I feel like I have been through a war. My right side is killing me, it hurts to breath some times, maybe they threw me around. Hope this all gets better. Wish they had done this the first time. Still no bowel movement, it hurts to even try so I guess I will have to do the milk of mag.

Re: Recovering from another surgery

I am so sorry you are having a tough time of things.

Have you called your doctor about the fever and the pain?? You don't want to risk any infection. You could probably call and at least talk to a nurse.

The bowel management takes a little time because both the anesthesia and the pain medication can slow things up. Fiber and fluids as much as you can tolerate. Even a glycerin suppository might help (clear it with your doc). This isn't a stimulant laxative like MoMag and might be a little less cramping. (my experience).

Sending prayers and hope you feel better soon.

Take care of yourself and rest up!

Diana
