Light bleeding after six weeks post op ~ has anyone else experienced this?

Had TAH/BSO a little over 6 weeks ago. Had intercourse at the 6 weeks mark, with no pain, great experience. However, I did have some light bleeding after. It was the first--and only--bleeding I've had since my surgery. They took everything, cervix, ovaries, etc. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? As everything felt fine, I was very surprised to see the bleeding. Hope we didn't do anything to hurt the cuff, etc. I would appreciate your feedback.

You need have an internal before resuming intercourse again because either you are not fully healed or dryness is occurring leading to abrasion....

((appolonia))

It is not uncommon for ladies to experience some spotting following their first few attempts at intercouse after a hysterectomy. The tissues could still be healing slightly, you could have some dryness from healing and hormonal imbalance, the area could still be a bit sensitive and you unconsciously tensed up, etc. etc. etc.!

If you have concerns or the bleeding increases, do check with your doctor! But as long as you were cleared for intercourse, you should be okay!

Many ladies to find they need to use some vaginal lubrication as well so if you did not use any, you could also try some next time!

Take care! S
