Hi Everyone!

I am looking for some feedback on the Femring. I had a LAVH with ovaries removed on 9/11/2009. I am 46 and the doc wants me to go on HRT. He said he likes the femring and has called in a rx for it. Unfortunately my cost with insurance is $125.00. He said I could insert myself or wait until my 6 week post op check up next week and he would do it for me. I have had some menopausal symptoms but not to bad. Any of you use it?

Re: Femring?

Hi Kay,

I've been using Femring, works great for me. I've was on Premarin, compounded oral estrogens and Vivelle Dot before the Femring.

$125 is lots of money but it should last three months. I pay $80 for mine with insurance. I think it goes for about $250 retail. There are lots of options for estrogen if you want something less expensive. Your doc may also have some samples.

Hope you do well,

Re: Femring?

I just went back to Femring and really like it. I had to stop using it while I was recovering from my anterior repair and I missed it. It's expensive, but for me it is still more affordable than the Vivelle dot I had been using. Good luck.

Re: Femring?

OK I picked it up yesterday and just inserted it. We shall see how it goes. I have my next dr apt on Tues. My symptoms are not bad but I think they want me on it due to my age. I have not been on anything yet for hormones until this.

Thanks for the info!
