LSH: Scheduled for Tuesday...but starting to panic...

I am going to make this short, as I have a meeting to attend in the morning before beginning the bowel prep. I am 28 yrs old, and this will be 3rd and hopefully final surgery since childbirth. I am in the middle of a messy divorce, and therefore I am feeling even more alone right now. Most of the people I know, haven't even had to consider this procedure. My friends have tried to be supportive and fun and we went out and celebrated the "U", as we now call it. However, I am hurting, and scared and just want to know that I am not alone in this. I am very much looking forward to the pain relief I should expect, as the graft from a previous surgery is making my pain even worse, and will be removed as well. I am babbling, I am sure, but any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Angela DaVinvi LSH 10-20-09

You are so welcome here. We all know how you feel here. Keep hanging in there and visiting us. Keep talking about how you feel. After the surgery, make sure to come see us on the post-op board. Sorry about your divorce. There are many here that are even completely alone in an empty house or might as well be (as they have no support from that person that is in their house.) So we all band together and help take care of each other here. Make sure you lean on those uncyber friends right now too, anyone you have at all. Put your pride away if you have to.

Hugs! I'm sorry that you are feeling so alone, but know that there are so many of us that are here for you and who want to offer support. I have one more month to wait, but there are many others that have gone through it or are going to be going through it with you tomorrow. We are here with you Angela. I'll be going in tomorrow too and sending you warm wishes that you feel less afraid. My friends are all younger (I'm 36) and in there twenties and they don't really understand what is happening either. I have found the support and answers, and even just ears to listen are on this site. The ladies here have so much love and can handle hearing what we have to say.

The morning of my surgery I woke up relieved that it was finally happening. My husband kept looking at me funny because I think he expected a lot of tears or freaking out. In my case, the waiting and unknown by far were worst than the surgery or recovery! Just lean on your friends and family now and all will go well. Remember your girl power and how truly remarkable and loved you are!

Thank you all so much. I just spoke to the hospital and my surgery is scheduled for 11a, I need to arrive at 9a. I have gotten most of my life organized, work, laundry, etc so I won't need to be worried when I get home. I know that I can make it through this, I just need to keep telling myself that. I am glad that my blackberry accesses this site so well, I am sure I will be on it at the hospital. Bobbydoo~I will be thinking of you as well. Best of luck and love.

Hi Angela,

I had a LSH and it is still one of the best things I ever did for my long term health. My LSH gave me back my quality of life. I hope you have similar results.

Just remember...waiting for surgery can be the hardest part. Your surgery date will be here before you know it.
