Re: Been 3 yrs still no luck with finding rt hrt

Have you considered trying Femring? Perhaps you just haven't found the right method of ERT for you. I tried patches for months, then femring and finally using Estrace tablet vaginally works best for me.

You pretty much have to stick with whatever you try for 6 weeks minumum for your body to adjust. If your shot isn't working after 2 months, sounds like you might need some more estrogen or different form.

Talk to your dr. Don't suffer in silence!

Re: Been 3 yrs still no luck with finding rt hrt

Back in April about a month before I turned 34 ...my Dr (former Dr now) started me on the injections of estrogen in his office once every 3-4 weeks. At first I felt better...I guess bc I got a rush of estrogen that my body had been missing but then things got bad and I truly thought I was losing my mind.

I did three of these injections and then decided to go to a new gyn bc this one had not been able to help me for a whole year after my total hyst.

First thing the new Dr did was a hormone panel which was drawn just 5 days after my last injection. I was curious what my estrogen level would come back at since I had just got an injection a few days before. My estrogen level came back at 699! Within 3 weeks my level had dropped back down into a perimenopausal state again. It was such a roller coaster ride! Up and down, up and down.

There are some women though who swear by the injections and love them! The nurse who worked for my former Dr said that she used to use vivelle dot but the injections made her feel more normal.

Have you had your estrogen checked within 5 days after the injection and then again right before it is time for you to have another one? How often are you getting them?

I would check into that and see if you are having big fluctuations bc some women are sensitive to fluctuations especially as big as what I was dealing with.

I wouldn't try the premarin with the injections bc if you have an overload of estrogen you can get bad symptoms that way to.

Hang in there!

Just goes to show that some of us feel better with much higher levels of estrogen. I felt my best when my estrogen tested over 400. The drs however do not like it above 200.

Re: Been 3 yrs still no luck with finding rt hrt

Hello Sisters,
I get my injections about every 10+ days for the past 2 years, also receive the testostrone shot.
I use up the HRT quicker than others. I can feel it. It has a lot to do with diet, exercise and more over stress. ( good and bad) I always welcome questions about the shots and even the pellets. I was one not able to take bc pills , allergic to adhesives and unlike some of you girls that can measure well the amount of creams. I must pay for an office visit. Good luck Birdie
