Soy products and HRT - yes or no?

Hello, everyone!

I'm on Elleste Solo (estradiol) and I was wondering whether I actually *need* any additional soy products in my diet? I've been reading a book called "Superfoods Rx" where it recommends the foods one should eat to gain all the necessary vitamins, minerals etc - things like blueberries, spinach etc - and soy products are recommended as a superfood! The thing is, I think this is aimed at women who still have their ovaries whose oestrogen levels may be fluctuating, assuming most women need more soy because they don't have any in their diet and it helps with their oestrogen levels. As I'm already having my oestrogen levels "managed" by the estradiol, surely they must be high enough already without eating any soy products? And actually, wouldn't it do more harm than good for me to eat soy products because it might upset the balance of my HRT? What do you all think?

Best wishes

Re: Soy products and HRT - yes or no?

If your hormone replacement is working for you I would not think you need any soy, besides I tried eating soy and such foods to help with symptoms when I was off my hrt at one time and I did not see any help there. I think a person would have to eat several pounds of soy to get enough to change levels of hormones.

I do drink soy milk because I like it, and I eat a lot of healthy foods for better health.
