Thanks Tracy, I hope all went well with your surgery and that your recovery is coming along as scheduled. This site is great for information, but I find that someof the information ie things to bring to the hospital for gas ( Pearls X Press)we can't get here and also the booklet that Hystersisters is putting out, we can't get either. Where did you get all your information, stats etc here in Canada?
I use Gas X it works great. I know I would have liked the book also, but I just kept looking around this sight and found some good info. Also the pharmacist at our small town drugstore is a wealth of information as she knows I prefer natural alternatives because I also have Lupus. They talk about the belly band on this sight, I used an extra wide tensor bandage right after surgery, works great! Also make sure to have a good stool softener ( Docusate Calcium).I have been have a rough time because I have a reaction to almost anything the doctor prescribes, lol. I thought I could go back to work in 2 weeks but that would be this wed and it isn't happening. My boss is not happy but it's my health so he'll have to suck it up.

HI Tracy - ok Gas X I know - Thanks!! I'll be buying it by the case load along with the stool softeners lol! Can I ask a question? Did you bleed after the surgery? Just wondering if you do or not cause if they are taking everything, where is it coming from? Dumb question I know! But it kept me up thinking about it all last night.
Which small town are you from in Alberta? I use to live in Red Deer and Penhold, Botha, Bon Accord.
Denise
Hi Tracy - oh yeah tell your boss when he has his uterus taken out, he can have as much time off as he is giving you lol! Wanted to thank you for the tensor bandage tip too!
Denise
Hi,
I am from Burlington , Ontario and am scared as well.
I have my surgery Friday morning so I will leave myself in God's hands and whatever is there, will be removed and I can start off fresh.
Having said that, I am still walking on the ceiling so I have been listening to meditation tapes to take the edge off.
Good Luck to you on your surgery day and if I can be of any help, please just let me know.
Keep on posting as it helps alot! This site has been a huge support for me and I am glad I found it.

Just wondering if there is any sisters from my area.
Hi Denise - What a small world - I'm also in Winnipeg.
I had cervical cancer - details are below my signature.
My hyster was at HSC - but all my followup is done out of St. B.
Have you had your pre-op yet? Mine was only done a couple of days before the surgery.
If there is anything in particular that you care to ask - please. The ladies here are very helpful and if there is anything specific to our CancerCare system I can help with - I will.

Millet,AB. Yes I was bleeding on the second day, alot and now I bleed if I do to much. Not sure exactly where it comes from, but keep in mind there will be alot of stitches inside also.If you overdo you can rip some which I think I may have, cause I'm getting awful sharp pains. I was really scared before I went in, but when I woke up it was not so bad( and I don't do pain well). I slept in my recliner for almost a week with extra pillows and such, it not onl is more comfortable but you don't have to worry about fluid on the lungs. I'm trying to think of everything I can to tell you, lol.
