3 wks post...now vomiting..whats up?

Hi all..

me again......I really need some advice here....Have not been doing real good since surgey anyway but was at least starting to feel like I was healing till the day before yesterday...

thought I had hit the 3 week wall but now I wonder....have been feeling really drained and exhuasted for the past two days...couldn't get off the couch really....now this am I wake up and feel really shakey.. have headache and have started vomiting
no fever..checked that...

what is going on now?... Docs office don't open till 9 am will call him then..but haven't been happy with him reallly since surgery...what do I do now?

Hello there, sorry you are not feeling so well.
Until your doctor's office opens, did you try sipping on some gingerale? If you have dried candied ginger in your kitchen, you could try sucking on a very small piece of that.
Popsicles can work well to relieve nausea,too, and help rehydrate from the vomiting. I would try the popsicle thing first, if you have any in the house.I got the popsicle tip from the lady who wheeled me downstairs when was discharged from the castle. It worked well for me.

I thought I was having a severe relapse last week - fever, chills, sore joints etc., but it turned out that the flu is going around and I got it. Is the flu going around where you live? Maybe it's just that. Not that having the flu after a hyst. is a picnic, mind you...

haven't heard anything about the flu here where I live....family is okay no complaints with them...

tried to call doc this am he is in surgery all day....don't know when or if he'll call...tried primary doc...waiting to hear from him....

almost hope it is just the flu....but still nervous...puking is killing me....headache...dizzy...weak....wish I knew what was going on..

Hi, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. If I were you I would call your gyn's exchange. He should call you back. I had the flu one week out. I was throwing up feeling very weak, etc. However, you say noone in your family has any of those symptoms.

I've had more nausea this week too but no vomiting. My doctor told me that some nausea would be expected at this point as the "inside" is starting to heal. I don't have any more aches though- just more tired when I do too much.

I too think it sounds like the flu as it is going around here too- Both my sons were home with it last week.

got a call back from both docs just a few min. ago and the surgen gave no explanation just said they would call in some meds to stop the vomiting and if it didn't work in 24-48 hours call him back...the nurse said she didn't think it sounded like the flu either as there is no fever at all....

My primary doc said things didn't sound right but as he didn't have the report in front of him as to what they did he really couldn't judge and told me to go tothe ER where I had surgery and they would have to check things out...

so I'm not sure what to do...will take the meds I guess and see what happens...

Hi Dawn, Sorry to hear you are feeling bad. I am also 3 weeks post-op and have been very sick to my stomach also, with some vomiting. Sometimes I wonder if they turned my stomach inside out!!!! Have lost almost 15 pounds since surgery, and I don't have an appetite. Feel better, I live in Florida too!!!

Toolgrl, I didn't have fever with my flu either. Just wanted to let you know that. Who knows? The other gals say they have vomited and no flu. Wow! Let us all know what you find out! Sure hope you feel better soon!

Hi girls..

still don't know why the vomiting... but the med the doc called in for me is called Phenegen(sp)...

boy does it knock me out...I just slept for 7 and a half hours!!!!!!

most sleep since surgery...lol...tummy still feels rough but vomiting has stopped for awhile....don't like the feeling of not being in control on meds...don't know if I'll keep taking it...
