Nothing is ever easy!

So, as I lay here wondering if I will make it through tonight, 3 days before my scheduled TAH, without pain meds and thinking about my new symptoms (a lot af lower back pain this weekend) I am frustrated to know that my insurance wants to deny my claim for surgery! My guess is it is an insensitive male who thinks it's all in my head. 6 months of stabbing pain every 2 weeks for 7-10 days at a stretch - I am ready for it to be over. Even worse that I waited 6 weeks knowing and anticipating it all. Thankfully my doc (who is male ) is totally on my side and doing all he cam to get everything through. Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings...

Re: Nothing is ever easy!

FIGHT IT TOOTH AND NAIL. Insurance companies think you'll just sit back and take it - so fight it! Hang in there, you have enough on your mind without having to worry about that too, I hope for the best for you.

Re: Nothing is ever easy!

lillycat,
my doctor was not in our insurance plan, but the hospital was. We worked out a deal with the doc. I figured it didn't hurt to ask, he could always say no. He actually asked us about our coverage/deductibles and he came up with very reasonable #"s. he sd that he does not like to see a womens health care decided by her ins co. So grateful for him to work this out with us.

Re: Nothing is ever easy!

That really stinks! Have you spoken with your insurance company directly?

I hope that there is a favorable resolution soon. If your doctor thinks you need surgery, I think the insurance company should agree as well.

Hang in there! Best wishes.

Were you able to sort out the insurance???
Is the surgery still on for tomorrow??
If so, all the best. If not, keep fighting the insurance!!
