sharp stinging pain 3 months post-op

Hi Girls!
I had a TAH in July. Healed up nicely, feel great now that the 19 cm cyst is gone but...
I also had a hernia repaired on my right side about 2 inches from my belly button. The incision went from right under my navel to about an inch above my pubic area. I had a lot of pain on the opposite side of the hernia post-op. The doc said she must have pulled the muscles too tight. Now I have this really sharp stinging pain that has moved about 1 inch above where it was originally. I swear it feels like there's a needle in there. It's a stinging sensation just under my skin. The skin is very sensitive to touch but I don't feel any pain if I tighten my abs. Do you think the doc left a needle in there? I don't have any signs of infection ( no fever, red marks etc) and it doesn't "sound" like an adhesion because it's not a deep- internal pain.
Anyone have this prob? I would love some advice.
Adios,
Julie

Re: sharp stinging pain 3 months post-op

Julie sorry you are having these problems, but I must ask have you talked to a doctor about this? Perhaps if you have spoken with your surgeon and not gotten the answer you need, you could talk to your primary care physician? Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you, but I'm sure that some of the other sisters will come along and address your post. Hope you get relief real soon!

yeah, I'd call and check with the doc. Not all adhesions are deep either. But it could be anything, so why not check with the doc? No harm done in checking. ;-)

Re: sharp stinging pain 3 months post-op

I talked to my Dr.s nurse today. She said to just keep an eye on it and call back if I have any signs of infection ( none so far). She also said that it could be a nerve that got tangled up in the sutures and is beginning to heal. I thought that too after reading other posts on here. Thanks for everyone's help!
